How it works

You stay in charge of the deal.

Dean isn't out to replace your retailer. He's making sure you know what's fair before you sign.

  1. You → Retailer

    The first quote

You price out the season's program. Maybe it's fair. With one number, you can't tell.

  2. You → Dean

    The real number

You send Dean the list. He works it against vendor pricing and gives you cost per acre.

  3. You → Retailer

    The second look

You go back with a real number, and the conversation changes.

  4. You

    Your call

Buy from whoever's best. Either way, you know you got there fair and square.

Fair questions.

Do I have to buy from Dean?

No. You can, and the pricing is real. But plenty of the value is just having a second number to take back to the table.

Will this cause trouble with my retailer?

It shouldn't. You're asking them to be competitive, not walking away.

What does Dean need from me?

What's on the list, how many acres or how much product, and when you need it. Your quote helps. A picture of it is fine.

Are generics the same as the brand?

Same active doesn't always mean same formulation, rate or registration. Dean will tell you what compares and what doesn't. The label is always the final word.

How does product get to the farm?

Semi-loads of individual products go direct to farm. Smaller orders can be put together, and terminal pickup can sometimes be arranged.

What does it cost to work with Dean?

Give him a call and he'll walk you through it.

Start with this year's list.
